The Art of Home Education – * – Invision Education

Let the journey be shaped by the curiousity of the child…

Making up games

Or shall we say, inventing new games by using materials we already have. Maximan was bored and asked if he could be entertained. This means, he was asking if he could watch a movie. Now, we don’t like to watch television with our children, unless we really need to. There are moments, we discovered, when televisionΒ  does come in helpfull. Anyway, this was not such a moment.

So I came up with a plan. “What if we were to invent a new game? Wouldn’t that be exciting? And what do we need?” Maximan brought his box with blocks over and together we thought how cool it would be to have a game where you could use those blocks. Next thing maxi boy did was getting a pillow casing out of my closet and stacked the blocks in there. A game was born!

He picked the first block and put it on our carpet. Then it was my turn.Β  And together we built… something. Until the whole thing fell and we started all over again.
